Montreal Thermography Inspections

Inspecting with an infrared camera greatly enhances a visual inspection of a home, commercial/industrial building, or a condo complex.

Thermography can detect very small temperature differences. Trained Thermographers are skilled at interpreting these temperature differences to inform the client what is potentially wrong and not visible to the human eye. We, at Les Inspections Joe Rodrigues Inc., have the experience and training to properly use this technology. We understand thermodynamics, material properties, and the right conditions required for detecting problems. We use the latest equipment to ensure the best results.

Our inspectors are certified Thermographers to ASNT TC-1A T/IR Level 1 and InterNACHI standards.

Certified Infrared Inspection

Commercial, Industrial, Condo Complexes

There are four types of thermographic inspections available:
Roof Inspections, Electrical Inspections, Mechanical Inspections, Building Envelope Inspections

ROOF COST / BENEFIT

New roof   $10.00 /sq. ft.
Repair   $12.00 /sq. ft.

On a 30,000 sq. ft. roof:
New roof   $300,000

Repair existing roof:
IR Survey   $2,500
Repairs: 10% of roof   $36,000
Total repair cost   $38,000

  Savings   $261,500

Commercial / Industrial / Condo Roof Thermographic Inspections

Commercial Roof Inspection

ASTM C1153 Standards
Warranty expiration thermographic inspections can help companies protect themselves against major issues that can lead to company downtime and financial strain. Les Inspections Joe Rodrigues Inc. provides commercial thermographic services to Montreal, Laval, West Island and South Shore.

The life of a roof can be extended by a thermographic inspection. Thermography can easily detect areas of the roof that are leaking but have not shown up visually. If caught, early enough, the affected roof areas can be isolated and patched, thereby extending the life of the roof and saving money. We take the guess work out of determining the areas to be patched.

Periodic thermographic roof inspections should be part of an integral maintenance program.
Les Inspections Joe Rodrigues Inc. follows ASTM C1153 standards for roof inspections.

Commercial / Industrial / Condo Thermographic Electrical Inspections

Thermographic Electrical Inspection

Thermographic Inspection

  • Thermographic Electrical Inspection
  • Thermographic Inspection

Electrical inspections can detect heated connections or components which may be indicative of a potentially major problem causing fire, injury, equipment damage, down time, etc. Thermography can find problems with faulty connections, overloaded circuits, faulty switches, phase imbalances, transformer issues, fuse problems, defective breakers, undersized connectors, insufficient cooling, etc. Many insurance companies now require annual inspections of critical equipment.

Commercial / Industrial Thermographic Mechanical Inspections

Commercial Mechanical Inspection

Mechanical inspections can detect elements of motors, compressors, bearings, belts, etc., under heat stress.

Thermography is an invaluable part of any maintenance program. It is always better to repair items before failure causes operational interruptions and unexpected replacement costs.

Commercial / Condo Thermographic Building Envelope Inspections

  • Commercial building Thermography

Building envelope inspections can detect problems with heat loss, air leakages, and water leakages. These are crucial for energy savings and occupant comfort.

Residential Thermographic Building Inspections

Thermography can be used to inspect for:

  1. 1. Roof and basement leaks
  2. 2. Leaks behind a surface
  3. 3. Thermal pane problems,
        (which often appear after the
        warranty period)
  4. 4. Missing, damaged or improperly
        installed insulation
  5. 5. Great for inspections on newer
        homes before the warranty
        period expires
  6. 6. Plumbing leaks that are not yet
        visually detectable
  7. 7. Electrical overheating from poor
        installation, overloading, etc.

  1.   8. Exterior wall leaks
  2.   9. Radiators
  3. 10. Furnaces, air conditioners,
          fan motors
  4. 11. Under floor heating systems,
          (water or electrical)
  5. 12. Air leakages at walls, windows,
          doors, ducts, etc.
  6. 13. Conditions in a home which could
          lead to mould growth
  7. 14. And many others

Right Conditions for an Infrared / Thermographic Inspection

Not all problems can be detected with just one visit. The successful detection of problematic areas is dependent on the optimal conditions to perform an infrared thermographic inspection. Beware of anyone that claims otherwise. We, at Les Inspections Joe Rodrigues Inc., will advise you what conditions are required to increase our success of finding problems.
